Israel is monitoring the landings of Houthi planes in Jordanian territory, amid security concerns in the Eilat area.
According to a report today (Tuesday) by Doron Kadosh on Galei Tzahal, the Houthi airline Yemenia Airways, which operates a limited number of flights, arrives mainly at the international airport in Amman, as Jordan is the only country in the region to which the Houthis are permitted to fly directly from the airport in Sana'a.
In addition, the security establishment is also monitoring landings at King Hussein Airport, which is near Aqaba and Eilat and is located opposite Ramon Airport.
According to the report, the Houthis are also allowed to reach this airport on direct flights from Sanaa, and the activity there is under surveillance by the Israeli security establishment.
This accessibility of the Houthis to the Eilat city area and the Israel-Jordan border - and their ability to get close - is, among other things, one of the main reasons for the security concerns in the security establishment, and for the Shin Bet head's warning about the possibility of a terrorist attack in Eilat.
However, the defense establishment emphasizes that this is an analysis and mapping of potential threats as they are perceived by senior officials in the defense establishment.
The Shin Bet clarified that at this stage there is no concrete intelligence information indicating an intention to carry out an attack.
