The Prime Minister's Office has contacted the General Security Service with a demand to launch an immediate investigation - following what the office defined as "a real risk to the life of the Prime Minister's wife.".
According to a report by Shirit Avitan Cohen in Israel Hayom, according to the official request, Sara Netanyahu was exposed to immediate harm following a serious security lapse.
In an official appeal forwarded to security officials, it was stated that an urgent investigation is required "in light of a serious security lapse in which Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara, was exposed to immediate harm yesterday in the heart of Jerusalem.".
Following the bureau's request, the unusual security incident is currently being investigated by the relevant authorities.
At this stage, it is not possible to publish further details about the nature of the default or the circumstances of the case.
