The fighter, who realized that this was a real-time criminal incident, began chasing the suspect using his private vehicle, while simultaneously calling additional police forces to the scene.
After a chase that lasted several minutes, the suspect stopped the stolen vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.
A Border Guard soldier attempted to make contact, caught up with the suspect, and began arresting him, while the suspect violently resisted arrest.
The suspect, who was arrested by a Border Guard soldier along with police officers from the Ashkelon station, is an illegal resident, a resident of Ramallah.
He was transferred for further investigation to the Ashkelon police station.
During the arrest, a Border Police soldier was slightly injured after being bitten in the leg by the suspect, and was taken for medical treatment.
