To remove a threat to our forces operating in the Yellow Line area: Last Wednesday, IDF forces in the Southern Command and the Shin Bet killed, using the Air Force, the terrorist Hamza Sharbatsi, a commander in the Shajaiyah Battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip.
The terrorist Sharbatsi invaded the country in the murderous massacre on October 7 and took part in the raid on the Nahal Oz outpost, where IDF soldiers were killed and kidnapped.
Recently, the terrorist operated near the Yellow Line and, as part of his role, promoted terrorist plots against IDF forces operating in the area.
The IDF revealed this evening a photo of Hamza Sharbatsi, captured in a camouflage uniform at the Nahal Oz outpost during the murderous massacre on October 7.
In the same attack, Azzam al-Hayya, a Nuhba terrorist and the son of a Hamas leader - who had played a central role in the organization during the last seven years - was also eliminated.
IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the region in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.
