Sergeant Major Alexander Golubnyov was killed last night in a drone strike by Hezbollah terrorists into Israeli territory.
Globeniov, a 47-year-old resident of Petah Tikva, served as a lead vehicle driver in a transport battalion, as part of the transport center.
He left behind a wife, two children - including an 8-month-old baby - and a mother.
His mother, Flora, said painfully: "Alexander was a good and beloved son. He was my only son, I have no one now. I was afraid of everything that was happening in the north, I was in touch with him and he said everything was fine. We spoke the day before yesterday and he said everything was fine. He always made sure to reassure me. What will I do now? My life is over, this is not normal.".
She added: "He leaves a huge void - what will a wife and two children do without him? One of them is only eight months old. My life is over, that's it.".
Alex, a family friend, said: "Less than a year ago, he had a beautiful baby girl. The guys called him the redhead, he was a man full of jokes, smiles and love. The first to come to help when needed. He left behind a broken heart. His wife, his mother and a large group of friends who are unable to digest the terrible disaster.".
Marina, a family friend, told News 12: "This is a nightmare that is hard for all of us to digest. Alexander is a charming person, full of giving, a person with all his heart. It's still unbelievable that this happened. He was the pride of his family, he brought a lot of joy to everyone. It's just terrible.".
The incident in which Alexander was killed occurred yesterday around 4:00 PM. Drones launched by Hezbollah were not detected by the IDF's systems and therefore could not be intercepted. The drones exploded in Israeli territory near the Lebanese border.
