Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the Al-Khaiam sector in southern Lebanon today (Wednesday), along with Northern Command Commander Major General Rafi Milo, Head of the Joint Special Operations Command Major General Rami Abu-Darham, Division 91 Commander Brigadier General Yuval Gaz, and brigade and battalion commanders in the regular and reserve forces.
During the visit, the Chief of Staff conducted an operational situation assessment, heard briefings from the division commander and brigade commanders, spoke with the battalion commanders fighting in the field, and toured Hezbollah's underground infrastructure located under a children's clothing store.
Eyal Zamir: "IDF forces in the Northern Command continue to work to fulfill the mission of protecting the communities, to remove all types of threats, and to deepen the damage to Hezbollah.".
Your mission is to remove any threat from our communities and our forces. All IDF capabilities are at your disposal, you have no limit to the use of force for this purpose, you will continue the mission to locate the enemy in space and destroy him. Since the beginning of Operation Roar of the Harrier, more than 2,000 Hezbollah terrorists have been eliminated. We will seize every opportunity to deepen the damage to Hezbollah and its continued weakening.
We have a historic opportunity to change the regional reality in a multi-scene campaign. Cooperation with the United States military and coordination continue at all times and we are monitoring the situation. In Iran, we have another series of targets ready for attack. We are on high alert to return to a powerful and broad campaign that will allow us to deepen our achievements and further weaken the Iranian regime.
We toured a Hezbollah terror tunnel, about 25 meters deep beneath a children's clothing store that looks innocent above ground. This is further proof that Hezbollah uses civilian space to carry out terrorist acts under the protection of the population. You are working systematically to locate and destroy this infrastructure.
"Great appreciation to you, the commanders, for your leadership, and especially to the reservists for your great dedication. You are on the front line of defense, the IDF is the wall protecting the northern communities. We will not back down until security and a long-term solution for the northern communities are ensured.".
