Last night (Tuesday), police from the Etzion police station arrested four young men, aged 14-15, residents of the ultra-Orthodox city of Beitar Illit, on suspicion of their involvement in causing damage during the Sabbath.
At the end of Shabbat, the police received a report of damage caused to a public bus and two bus stops on Knesset Mordechai and Knesset Yehezkel streets in the city of Beitar Illit.
Immediately upon receipt of the report, investigative actions began, with the Etzion station collecting findings and intelligence, with the aim of tracking down those involved.
Combined activity by community police officers and the intelligence coordinator working among the young population led police detectives to the location last night and to arrest 4 suspects, residents of the city - and transfer them for questioning at the police station.
The police say: "Rapid investigative activity by the city's police station has indeed led to a number of suspects, and additional arrests may be made, but this violence must be rooted out.".
""This is vandalism in its true sense that harms the city's residents, and acts like this, which begin by causing damage to property, can easily turn into violence and irreversible damage to human life. We will continue to act in every way and means against all such unacceptable phenomena, locating suspects and bringing them to justice accordingly.".
