Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented Israel's security reinforcement plan, based on the principles of independence and military superiority.
Netanyahu began his remarks by emphasizing the country's resilience: "Israel is stronger than ever, and Israel must always be much stronger than our enemies. Therefore, I advocate for two principles: strengthening and independence.".
As part of the buildup plan, the Prime Minister announced the purchase of two squadrons of modern F-35 and F-15IA aircraft for the Air Force.
Netanyahu noted: "These planes strengthen Israel's overwhelming air superiority, a superiority that was also proven in 'Am Kalavi' and now in 'Roar of the Harrier.' Our pilots can reach anywhere in Iranian skies, and they are prepared to do so - if required. We have great planes and we have great pilots.".
As part of the principle of independence, Netanyahu directed that Israel invest in its own weapons production capacity to reduce dependence on foreign factors.
He said, "In the coming decade, we will add 350 billion shekels to the defense budget, in order to produce these weapons in Israel and not be dependent on foreign countries. At the same time, we will develop groundbreaking aircraft produced by Blue and White. This will change the whole picture.".
The Prime Minister also addressed dealing with the drone threat from Lebanon: "A few weeks ago, I ordered the establishment of a special project to thwart the drone threat, and today I will be presented with a progress report on the subject. It will take time - but we are on it. We will continue to ensure Israel's superiority in all arenas.".
