A 49-year-old man collapsed this morning (Sunday) in a synagogue in Zichron Yaakov.
Rescue vehicles that were called to the scene, along with MDA medics and paramedics, performed advanced CPR on him, and after, by the grace of God, his pulse returned, he was taken to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera for further treatment, fully conscious and in good condition.
Paramedics Moti Rothman and Nati Lerner, who were first to arrive at the scene, said: "We received a report of a man who collapsed in a synagogue. We arrived at the scene quickly and saw a man lying unconscious with no pulse and no breathing. They told us that he had collapsed and immediately called MDA's 101 hotline.
""We immediately realized that this was a cardiac event. We began performing advanced CPR, which included massages, breathing, administering medication, and administering 5 electric shocks from a defibrillator. After his heart started beating again and he regained full consciousness, we evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital in stable condition.".
""On the way to the hospital, we explained to the patient his medical condition. We are so happy that we were able to save him. It is very exciting to reach the patient when he is unconscious and take him to the hospital while he is talking to you.".
