Last Friday, David Area Police in the Jerusalem District and Border Police soldiers operated at the entrances to the Temple Mount in the Old City, as part of preparations for Friday prayers and maintaining public order on the Mount and its surroundings.

According to the police, a group of Jews who arrived at one of the gates attempted to break into the gate with the aim of bringing a goat into the mountain area on Passover Monday, while violating public order.

The police immediately prevented the suspects from entering, blocked their path, and detained/arrested 21 suspects for questioning.

The suspects were brought to the Magistrate's Court for a hearing - where they were released. An appeal filed with the District Court also decided to release them.
