Today (Tuesday), at around 9:15 PM, a report was received at the ZAKA hotline about a man's body being found in an apartment on Eilot Street in Eilat.
ZAKA volunteers from the Eilat team were called to the scene and worked at the scene to provide dignity to the deceased and collect the remains.
Rabbi Shimon Eisenbach, commander of the Eilat ZAKA: "Following an unusual odor coming from the apartment, emergency forces were called to the scene. When we arrived, we found a man about 50 years old, lifeless, in a state of advanced decomposition, several days after he died.
""This is not a simple scene. An extended team of ZAKA volunteers from the Eilat team worked on the scene with dedication, treating the deceased with dignity and collecting the findings.""
Haim Weingarten, ZAKA's Deputy Director of Operations, said: "This is the fifth case since the beginning of the week of people being located long after their death.
""We once again call on the public to be vigilant about their surroundings, to check and inquire about the well-being of lonely and homeless people. A phone call or a knock on the door, once a day, can save a life.""
