During the activities of Jerusalem District police and Border Guard soldiers to secure Memorial Day events, two suspects, aged 25 and 31, residents of East Jerusalem and Abu Ghosh, were arrested today (Tuesday), on suspicion of involvement in an incident of blatant harm to public sentiment and behavior that could violate public peace.
The arrest was made after hotline reports and documentation were received on social media in which a vehicle belonging to a Jerusalem Municipality contractor was recorded, from which loud music in Arabic was blaring.
According to reports, the occupants of the vehicle danced and whistled, demonstrating blatant disrespect in the midst of Memorial Day and during official memorial ceremonies.
Upon receiving the reports, the police began searching and located the vehicle in which the suspects were traveling, arrested them, and took them to the police station for questioning.
The vehicle involved was seized and will be inspected by a traffic inspector from the Jerusalem District to detect defects.
