Scotland Yard and the local London Watchmen organization reported the arrest of two young men on suspicion of attempting to set fire to a synagogue yesterday using a Molotov cocktail.

The detainees, aged 16 and 19, were arrested on 'suspicion of arson under aggravated circumstances.' The incident is being investigated as an anti-Semitic hate crime.

The minor was released on bail and the adult remained in custody for further investigation.

The young men allegedly arrived at the synagogue and threw an improvised Molotov cocktail. Security personnel, alerted by passersby, prevented the incident from developing into a fire.

Minor damage was caused to the front of the synagogue.

The two suspects were arrested a short time later after surveillance operations using security camera footage in the Stamford Hill neighborhood.
