In a rapid and focused enforcement operation, Israel Land Authority (ILA) inspectors, with the assistance of Israel Police forces, cleared a new invasion of state land located near the Herzliya airport.
The area in question is intended for the construction of a new residential neighborhood, as part of a national plan, with the cessation of field activity there.
The invasion was detected in its early stages by RAMI inspectors, who identified extensive preparation work that was carried out without a permit and in violation of the law. Concrete surfaces, retaining walls, synthetic grass, and three containers loaded with new equipment were found in the area, apparently in preparation for the establishment of a private farmers' market in the heart of state land.
Upon identifying the activity, the Israeli Defense Forces issued an immediate evacuation order. Approximately 20 police officers and 10 workers took part in the evacuation operation, who used heavy mechanical equipment (HME) to restore the situation to normal. The containers were evacuated from the area and the land was repossessed by the state.
Shira Tam, director of the Land Preservation Division at the Israel Lands Authority, said: "This is an attempt to take control of a valuable public resource intended to solve the housing shortage. We will not allow the invaders to determine facts on the ground and harm national planning.".
Alongside the physical evacuation, the Authority will work to fully pursue legal action against the invader, including filing a financial claim to reimburse the state for all costs of the operation.
