The Mossad, IDF, and Shin Bet revealed today (Monday) that a terrorist infrastructure operating in Azerbaijan under Iranian direction was thwarted.
According to the announcement, the network planned to attack the oil pipeline running through Georgia and Turkey (BTC) - and against several Jewish targets and institutions in the country, including the Israeli embassy, the synagogue in Baku, and leaders of the Jewish community.
Members of the operational cell were arrested by Azerbaijani authorities while carrying explosive drones and cluster bombs that they had smuggled into the country.
The squad members worked to gather information about their targets, including through physical surveillance and photography.
The Israeli intelligence community also revealed today the full structure of the Revolutionary Guards' secret terror apparatus.
The exposure followed a series of assassinations carried out by the Air Force during the "Roar of Hari" war against senior members of the apparatus. This was alongside intensive activity by the Mossad and its partners in security and enforcement agencies around the world, which culminated in widespread arrests and interrogations of members of terrorist cells operating on behalf of the apparatus around the world.
The mechanism was headed by Rahman Makdem, who also served as the head of the Special Operations Division (4000) in the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence organization. He was eliminated by the Air Force at the beginning of 'Riot Hari'.
Section 4000, headed by him, was responsible for promoting terrorist operations outside Iran's borders against Israeli and Western targets, as well as being responsible for attempts to smuggle advanced weapons into Israeli territory.
In his role, Kidam Medak has promoted the organization's terrorist efforts around the world in recent years. This activity included recruiting and training terrorist operatives in and outside Iran. This was done with the aim of gathering intelligence on both senior Israeli politicians and members of the Israeli security community, as well as on Israeli military sites, ports, and vessels in Israel and around the world.
Under his command operated Syrian warehouse - who served as a leading figure in the apparatus alongside his additional role as a senior officer in Section 4000. A Syrian, he was also eliminated during the war in an emergency facility where he was staying, alongside other figures in the Revolutionary Guards.
As part of his operational activities, and like other operatives in the secret terrorist attack apparatus, he took a significant part in activities outside of Iran and participated in numerous operational rounds during which he met with local terrorist cells, which he directed to carry out missions in the field.
Alongside Syrian, other Revolutionary Guard officers operated in the European arena, the Middle East, and Azerbaijan, including Mehdi Yekha-Dhakan, known as "The Doctor," who led the terrorist efforts in Azerbaijan.
Dehkan has been known since the beginning of this year after the arrest of an operational infrastructure in Turkey that, under his direction, promoted the smuggling of explosive drones from Iran to Turkey and from there to Cyprus, and carried out information gathering at the American Incirlik Air Force Base in Adana.
According to the Mossad, Operation Roaring Hari led to further unleashing of Iranian aggression in the region, including an effort to expand their capabilities.
Meanwhile, it is known that members of the apparatus also work in cooperation with other elements, such as the pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, to carry out terrorist attacks.
