United States President Donald Trump published a post on his social network TruthSocial this morning (Sunday) in which he gave support to the State of Israel for its conduct in the war alongside the United States - while apparently hinting at allies who did not come to his aid when he requested assistance in opening the Strait of Hormuz.
The president wrote: "Whether people like Israel or not, they have proven to be great allies of the United States.".
He added: "They are brave, bold, loyal, wise, and unlike others who showed their true colors in moments of crisis and pressure - Israel fights hard and knows how to win!""
On Friday, after announcing a 10-day ceasefire agreement, the president published a stronger post in which he stated that Israel was prohibited from "continuing to bomb Lebanon" and added the words: "Enough is enough!!!".
The current change in tone appears to be an attempt to make clear that despite the pressure he exerted to stop the fighting in Lebanon, he still sees Israel as his leading strategic partner.
