The IDF and Shin Bet attacked in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday, killing terrorist Zaki Yusef Mahmoud Abu Mustafa, the Nuhba commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade of Islamic Jihad.
The terrorist raided Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 massacre, and took part in the kidnapping of Yagil Yaakov.
In a photo collected by the IDF, Abu Mustafa is documented on Israeli territory during the kidnapping of Yagil Yaakov from Kibbutz Nir Oz.
""Recently, Abu Mustafa has worked hard to restore the capabilities of the terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, while violating the ceasefire agreement. In addition, he promoted many terrorist plots against our forces, and tried to hold training sessions for terrorists at Nasser Hospital, so that they would not be eliminated while operating inside it," the statement said.
""Abu Mustafa posed an immediate threat to our forces operating in the area, and was eliminated in a precise strike.".
In another attack, the terrorist Muhammad Osama Abd al-Aziz Saba al-Aish was eliminated, a Nuhba terrorist from the Hamas terrorist organization who tried to promote training and education for the organization's terrorists, and worked to recruit additional terrorists to the organization.
Yagil Yaakov is a survivor of captivity who was kidnapped to Gaza on October 7 when he was 12 years old. He was held separately from his brother for 52 days and was released in November 2023, while his father, Yair Yaakov, was murdered that same Sabbath and his body was kidnapped.
