MK Meir Porush spoke at noon (Wednesday) in the Knesset plenary session during a debate on MK Tali Gottlieb's immunity request.
In his speech, he said: "We are not having a debate today about MK Gottlieb's immunity, we are here in a debate about selective enforcement in its most blatant form. MK Gottlieb dared not to follow suit, and to speak out against the High Court of Justice and the judicial system, and they decided to thwart her.".
""At the same time, the legal system is simply exercising from others, like MK Kariv, who leaked classified information. But the attorney general has all the time in the world to pursue MK Gottlieb.".
""How absurd is this? A few days ago, a serious report was published by the State Comptroller about the judicial system's helplessness in bringing to justice the criminal terrorists who participated in the terrible massacre on Simchat Torah 5774.".
""Persecuting MK Gottlieb, persecuting Torah scholars, beating up protesters this morning, there is time for that. But bringing murderous terrorists to justice, there is no time for that. Dealing with the criminal act of the MP, there is no time for that.".
""MK Gottlieb, I will comfort you by saying that you are in good company. This morning, in an unprecedented move of selective and violent enforcement, the police in an organized and institutionalized manner went on a rampage, there is no other word, riots, against Jews whose only sin is that they want to protest and express their pain over the arrest of Torah scholars.".
""We see here a system whose entire essence is selective enforcement, selective enforcement against elected officials who do not suit them, selective enforcement against Torah students, and selective enforcement against protesters.".
""The State of Israel likes to call itself a Jewish and democratic state. What we see here today are un-Jewish acts, undemocratic acts, and with this anarchy, there will soon be no state either.".
""The Attorney General, the Commissioner, enough! You are leading to a civil war!".
