Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir conducted a sector tour in the Gaza Strip today (Wednesday) with Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Asor, Division 99 Commander Brigadier General Elad Tzuri, Gaza Division Commander Brigadier General Liron Batitto, and other commanders.

As part of the visit, the Chief of Staff held a tour and a discussion with the commanders in the Gaza Strip, during which the battalion commanders reviewed the operational situation with him. Afterwards, he held a discussion with the commanders of the divisions and brigades operating in the area.

The Chief of Staff expressed his appreciation to the fighters and commanders operating in the Gaza Strip to protect the residents of the State of Israel.

Eyal Zamir: "We are implementing the security concept that we defined - not only here, but along all of the borders of the State of Israel. The IDF is on the front lines, in front of the settlements and in front of the residents, to protect them.".

In the Gaza Strip, we hit Hamas, weakened it significantly, and changed the security situation. The IDF will continue to act on the initiative and will continue to act according to the principle we established - to remove threats and in any situation to protect the communities and residents, and maintain their security. We will not allow a threat to our borders as we experienced on October 7.

The Gaza front is part of a multi-scene campaign. Last week I met the forces in southern Lebanon, and here I see the same spirit - a spirit of initiative, of offensiveness and commitment to the mission. This is the spirit that allows us to continue the principle we have established and to keep the initiative in our hands.

I would like to express great appreciation to the Southern Command and the divisions operating in the sector for their initiative, determination, and continued offensiveness. A tangible example of this is the pursuit of the Nahva terrorists and everyone who was involved in planning and carrying out the October 7 massacre. This is a permanent and ongoing mission that the command is fulfilling with great success. The images from the settlements, the Bibs family, the female observers, and all the victims of the October 7 massacre are before our eyes every day. We will continue to pursue those responsible, and we will not relent until we have brought to justice everyone who had a part in the massacre - sooner or later. This is a permanent and ongoing mission.

"We need to continue to act to protect the residents of the perimeter. Your protection and security are our goal - we will continue to act to strengthen security. We have fundamentally changed the security situation, and we will continue to act to ensure that the IDF stands at the forefront of the communities, protects the communities and the residents, and maintains their security.".
