Tonight (Wednesday), the ZAKA international unit received a report of a 34-year-old Jerusalem resident who drowned on a beach in the city of Limassol, Cyprus.

The ZAKA organization works together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with local authorities, and assists family members in completing all the procedures required to bring the deceased for burial in Israel.

Haim Weingarten, ZAKA's Deputy Director of Operations: "This is a serious and painful disaster. The deceased went into the sea to bathe with his family, and at a certain point his traces disappeared.

""For about two hours, family members searched for him on the beach and at sea, until a paraglider passing over the area spotted him floating in the water. Unfortunately, local rescue teams were forced to confirm his death.".

""ZAKA is in constant contact with the family and, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is working with local authorities to assist the family and bring the deceased for burial in Israel as quickly as possible.""
