The Ministry of Health calls on the public - and especially the elderly, children, pregnant women and those with chronic diseases - to avoid exposure to heat and sun as much as possible, to be sure to drink water and stay in air-conditioned places.
According to the Meteorological Service forecast, a severe heat wave is expected in most regions of the country and will peak tomorrow and into Sunday.
The Ministry of Health reminds people not to leave children, the elderly, the helpless, or animals in a vehicle unattended, and warns of the risk of heatstroke. In the event of a high body temperature, confusion, dizziness, or loss of consciousness, call MDA immediately, cool the victim, and avoid giving him or her anything to drink until medical attention is received.
