Azerbaijan announced this evening (Wednesday) that it is banning the activities of two Iranian media outlets within its borders.
This was in response to the announcement by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence that banned the operation of the Azerbaijani state channel - and added it to the list of "hostile media organizations.".
According to a report in 'Kan News', the government in Azerbaijan announced that it will ban the activities of the "Sahar" channel and the "Mehr" news agency of Iran, as well as the presence of their representatives in the country.
The Baku Media Development Agency said that Iranian media outlets "are conducting propaganda against the sovereignty of the state, against the constitutional order, territorial integrity and national security.".
