Defense Minister Yisrael Katz held a security discussion on Judea and Samaria last night (Monday), with the participation of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, head of the IDF's Military Intelligence Service, head of the Military Intelligence Service, commander of the Central Command, the IDF's Regional Intelligence Service, commander of the IDF's Shechem Police District, the military secretary to the Defense Minister, and representatives of the Shin Bet and the security establishment.

In concluding the discussion, the minister instructed the IDF to expand offensive activity against Palestinian terrorism "which is trying to raise its head again," and to prepare to occupy another refugee camp - according to the model for handling the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur a-Shams terror camps, which were evacuated of residents, cleared of terrorist infrastructure, and the IDF is permanently stationed there.

The Defense Minister's Office noted that this is a policy that Katz, with the backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, initiated upon taking office.

It was also reported that this activity led, according to data from the security establishment, to a decrease of approximately 80% in the scope of terrorist activity during 2025, and this trend continued during 2026.
