Following an investigation underway in the Jerusalem District: Police are asking for the public's help in locating a mother and her two children - ages three and one.
Investigators from the Lev HaBira police station in the Jerusalem district are conducting the investigation, following a complaint filed against the mother - Aliya Joy Hirshberg, 29, from Jerusalem, on suspicion of kidnapping her two children: Tala Reisel, about 3 years old, and Nathan Yaakov Varona, about 1 year old.
According to the findings of the investigation, the mother and her two children entered Israel in August 2025, and since then their traces have disappeared.
The police suspect that the mother and her children may be in the Jerusalem area.
Hirschberg holds Israeli citizenship. She came to Israel with her children from the United States against the will of the children's father, and is residing in the country. At the request of American authorities, an arrest warrant was issued for her in Israel.
According to a report on the Mako website, the children's father is a Canadian citizen. After discovering that the children had disappeared, he contacted Interpol and engaged private investigators, who concluded that the children were in Israel.
The details were passed on to the Israeli authorities, who only today allowed the news of the three's absence to be published.
The police are calling on anyone who knows anything or has information about their whereabouts to contact the Israel Police hotline 100 or the investigative unit at 02-5391550.
