Amit Segal, Channel 12's senior political commentator, claimed today (Tuesday) that the obstacle facing the opposition bloc on its path to conquering power focuses on the unresolved question of the composition of the future coalition - if a majority of 61 seats is not achieved.
In his opinion, if the public identified with the opposition internalizes this complex scenario, internal struggles and conflicts may begin within the bloc.
In this scenario, serious disagreements may arise regarding the identity of possible partners.
Segal notes that while Yair Golan will propose sitting with the Arabs, Benny Gantz - as far as we can tell in this system - will prefer the option of going with Netanyahu, while other sources will propose a move of cooperation with the Haredi parties.
Segal estimates: "The fight will lead people back into Netanyahu's arms, to a new right-wing party, or simply to stay home.".
According to him, Netanyahu intends to focus attention on leaning on Arab parties - to prevent the opposition from forming a government.
Segal estimates that "the prime minister recognizes the potential for four to five seats that could go directly from Magdi Eisenkot to him. Netanyahu's goal is to convey to these voters the message that the options on the table are limited to integrating the Haredim or going to new elections.".
