Federal investigators in the United States suspect that a White House teleprompter operator made more than $100,000 betting on President Donald Trump's speeches.
According to a report today (Thursday) by the American television network ABC, law enforcement authorities believe that the operator earned more than $100,000 in bets placed on the Kalshi website - which deals with predicting various events.
About three months ago, a soldier in the US Army's special forces, who was involved in the capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, was accused of betting on the Polymarket website on the operation taking place before it took place - and earning about $400,000 for it.
The soldier is facing five counts of theft and misuse of classified government information, theft and fraud. This relates to 13 bets he made on the site between December 27 and January 2, with the last bet being made just hours before the special operation on Venezuelan soil was launched.
