In a targeted operational activity by Moriah police officers this morning (Friday), forces raided a school building in the Beit Safafa neighborhood - where the police located 17 illegal residents who had taken over parts of the building.
During the police searches of the scene, it was revealed that the suspects had set up an improvised accommodation complex within the school walls, which included rooms, beds, and showers.
The proactive police activity was initiated following complaints received from concerned parents to the community policing commander regarding the presence of outsiders in the building after hours - at a time when summer camps and activities for children are currently taking place at the school.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
