As part of a joint investigation by the police and the Shin Bet, an organization of four residents of the town of Segev Shalom was uncovered, who were suspected of planning to carry out terrorist activity against police and security forces and an attack in the city of Beersheba.
Following the suspicion, during the months of May and June 2026, in a turbulent operational activity by Border Guard naval fighters, the four suspects were arrested - who were transferred for interrogation.
Their investigation revealed that one of those involved initially posted content on social media that allegedly contained incitement and support for terrorist activity.
Later, those involved conspired to promote terrorist activity.
In order to carry out their plan, the suspects planned to fire at the Segev Shalom police station, carry out an attack at the central bus station in the city of Be'er Sheva, and establish a terrorist infrastructure aimed at harming the security forces operating in the town.
At the end of the investigation, this morning (Friday) the Southern District Attorney's Office submitted a serious indictment to the District Court in Be'er Sheva against the suspects, some of whose activities began when they were minors.
""This is a serious organization, in which young Israeli citizens planned to carry out terrorist activity. This intention was thwarted in advance by the Israel Police and the General Security Service, before the suspects had time to take steps to implement their plan," the police say.
