Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Haifa Navy Base today (Tuesday), together with the Navy Commander, Major General Eyal Harel.
During the visit, the Prime Minister received an operational overview of the Corps' activities.
Afterwards, Netanyahu met for an open discussion with the IDF fighters stationed at the base, heard from them about the ongoing activities at sea, and praised their dedication to protecting the country's maritime borders.
Netanyahu: "I am here at the Haifa Port, at the naval base with the commander of the navy. I received an exhaustive overview of our capabilities, they are impressive. Some of them you see.
""I have set a simple goal: The goal of the Navy, of the State of Israel, is to secure the shipping lanes and freedom of maritime trade, which are so important to the State of Israel. I am impressed by what you have done so far, and what you plan to do together with the other security forces, so may you have great success.".
