After prolonged activity by ZAKA commanders in the Jerusalem District, together with ZAKA's legal department, in front of the police, the Attorney General's Office and all relevant parties, the body of baby Sarah Chaya Biton, 3 months old, who died earlier today at Shaare Zedek Hospital - after suffocating in her home - was released this evening (Monday).
During the day, ZAKA volunteers accompanied the family members and worked on the operational and legal levels until all the necessary procedures were completed.
The baby's body was transferred to St. Joseph's Hospital for a CT scan.
Upon completion of the examination, the baby's body was released for burial.
A ZAKA ambulance transported the baby's body to Beit Shemesh, in preparation for the funeral procession.
The baby's funeral will take place tonight at the 'Eretz HaChaim' cemetery in Beit Shemesh.
Avrimy Kap, commander of ZAKA Beit Shemesh: "From the moment we received the report, we accompanied the family members and worked together with ZAKA's legal department with all relevant parties until the baby's body was released for burial.
""We would like to thank Lt. Col. Czer Lux, a Beit Shemesh VIP officer, and the Israel Police for their cooperation and sensitivity throughout the treatment, and to all those who helped complete the procedure - and to enable her to be laid to rest with due respect.".
