Unusual event in Petah Tikva: An 11-year-old girl who was on her way to a club on HaMefalsim Street in the city survived an attempted kidnapping.
The incident occurred when a man in his 40s attacked her, forcibly lifted her up - and began to walk away from the scene with her, in front of passersby.
An investigation by Petah Tikva police revealed that the girl was walking alone on the busy street when the suspect approached her unexpectedly. The suspect allegedly first tried to snatch her cell phone from her hands.
The girl, who quickly recovered and was in the middle of a conversation with her father, cried out for help.
Passersby and drivers who passed by the scene immediately realized that this was a criminal incident.
They called the police and detained the suspect.
The suspect was taken for questioning at the station. Later, due to his condition and bizarre behavior, it was decided to transfer him to medical authorities for evaluation.
