Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu attacked Nitzan Alon, the former head of the Abductees and Missing Persons Command, in an interview with Eric Weiss and Goni Cohen on Galei Tzahal this morning (Thursday).

The minister said: "In my opinion, he is to blame for the fact that people were murdered and kidnapped. They were murdered because of Nitzan Alon and this attitude that put the terrorists on the fence.".

Minister Eliyahu referred to the statement of the former head of the Abductees and Missing Persons Command, according to which "the political leadership refused earlier and complete deals in the name of that 'total victory' that I think is false" - and argued on the other hand: "If we had gone with him, we would now be with Hamas on the fences in front of the settlements, and then what would have happened? Who was to blame? Nitzan Alon and his gang are guilty of the October 7 massacre.".
