The suspect in the murder of Kabbalist Rabbi Amos Guetta, zt"l, recently used to come to his beit midrash on Shimon Bar-Yochai Street in the Ramat Herzl neighborhood of Netanya and shout to his followers and associates: "Rabbi, you are the Messiah, you are the Messiah. Reveal yourself, reveal yourself, reveal yourself already.".

According to a report by Shimon Ifergan on the Mako website, the Kabbalists tried to calm him down - but in vain. He continued to shout.

One of Rabbi Amos' close associates told Mako: "No one for a moment believed or even imagined that he would murder the rabbi. He was such an eccentric, who shouted, but no one really cared about him. His courtyard is open to everyone, especially to broken-hearted people, people in need who need help and assistance. The suspect in the murder also received help from the rabbi, and unfortunately he repaid him for it with murder.".

One of the close friends said about Rabbi Amos zt"l: "He was a rare rabbi who performed miracles and wonders and also foresaw disasters. About three years ago, he went through a difficult event and came out of it. In one case, he foresaw a disaster for a relative and recited Kaddish over him in front of his stunned followers, before they even knew he had been killed in a car accident. After a few hours, they announced that he had been killed. Rabbi Guetta had supernatural abilities to predict things 100 steps ahead of everyone else.".

The murder suspect arrived again early this morning and tried to go inside to speak with Rabbi Amos zt"l.

According to the report in Mako, the rabbi's followers tried to prevent him from doing so. He shouted, went berserk, pulled out a knife, and attacked the rabbi, stabbing him four times and fleeing the scene. According to the report in Mako, he was murdered while confined to his bed.

""People knew the murder suspect. He was probably in a fit of rage. Everyone here is in shock from this horrific murder," said another insider. "He tried to stab the rabbi's assistant who wanted to help him, but he escaped and survived.".

The suspect's detention was extended by eight days.

Attorney Ran Alon, who represents the suspect in the murder of Rabbi Amos Guetta in Netanya on behalf of the public defender's office, told 'MAKO': "In light of the impression of the suspect's mental state, the court accepted our request to refer him for an urgent psychiatric examination. Now we must wait for the results of the opinion.".
