About two and a half years ago, on the eve of the wedding of a dear groom to his bride Hadar, the daughter of Rabbi Yonatan Ezer, a rumor reached the ears of the "Tzadik of Tiberias" that the wedding was supposed to be mixed - and he was very sorry.
Rabbi Kook turned to his associate and said: "I do not believe that our friend Jonathan's daughter would do such a terrible thing. Isn't a mixed incident an occasion for incest? It is better for them to live together as singles than to be 'married' while being associated with Satan and all his soldiers. This incident will surely kill several soldiers and bring upon us severe decrees. There is no greater blasphemy against God than this...""
Rabbi Kook also spoke to Rabbi Sali Yisrael Dadon: "Tell the Kiddushin order there that he is committing the offense of desecrating God in such a Kiddushin order. This is not an order, but confusion. It is strictly forbidden for a religious figure, and even more so for a figure called a 'rabbi' in Israel, to give a hand in this crime, even if he escapes from hell immediately after the wedding..."'
Later, Rabbi Kook turned to his associate - and said: "Call the bride and remind her that I have always prayed for her, ever since she was a little girl when she was diagnosed with the disease - according to rumor, Rabbi Kook fasted for her for long days - and I know that, blessed be God, she has been healthy since her childhood, but now inform her that if the event is involved, I remove my responsibility, I have no connection with her and will not pray for her anymore... She destroys all prayers with her hands and this is an unparalleled act of kindness.".
The book's confidant: "I did as he said, the bride was right in the middle of the 'henna' event, and when she heard the words, she burst into tears... Of course, some people took care to prove to me that I was ruining her joy, and some even went so far as to curse me... But our rabbi told me to continue with all my strength and not to be silent, because this crying is a holy cry of deep repentance, this crying is worth a lot, because it is better for her to cry now - than to cry without stopping in the judgment of God.".
""A few hours later, at midnight, I received a call from my father asking me to come to their house. I arrived and saw the groom and the bride with tears in their eyes, and this is what they told me: 'We thought about the words of Rabbi Kook, and came to the conclusion that the Creator is more important to us than all vanity and imagination. We will not lose eternal life for the foolishness of a few hours, we will not turn hours of spiritual joy into an event of theft and abomination - and therefore the wedding will be completely separate, please go and tell the Rabbi this...'"
""I conveyed all the things - and the things brought a broad smile to his face and he greeted them again with huge blessings.".
The insider adds: "The great miracle of this whole story was that the bride underwent very difficult treatments as a child, and the doctors said at the time that although her life was miraculously saved, she would no longer be able to give birth like any other woman, and only through complex treatments might she be able to get pregnant...""
Now Rabbi Kook said: "Tell her that I bless her, that thanks to this act she will be blessed with having children naturally, and just as her name is 'Hadar', so she will be blessed with being 'the fruit of the Hadar tree...""
The insider: "I conveyed the news to them, and I attended their wedding along with nearly a thousand people, most of whom, unfortunately, are not yet Torah-observant, and there was a very great celebration of God there.".
The groom came to Rabbi Kook and asked to say 'thank you very much' for having made him worthy of sanctifying the name of God. Rabbi Kook replied: "May you continue to sanctify God in this way in the world, that you may have ten sons... You want more and I bless ten sons first..."'
Days passed. During the time since the marriage, several failed fertility treatments had been performed, and the woman felt headaches and nausea. She went to the hospital with her husband, but then one of the family members said: 'Maybe you should do a 'pregnancy test.'".
Some family members and doctors mocked and laughed: The chances of her being pregnant are like the chances of a still stone being pregnant, especially since she is not currently in a specific treatment phase...
But then the husband said: Let's try to do a test, didn't Rav Kook bless and decree that it would be a 'fruit of the citrus tree' in the hands of Heaven, maybe we will receive good news. And so they did.
To their astonishment, it turned out that she was pregnant with twins, without any treatment. "The wedding barriers removed the medical barriers..." says Rabbi Kook's associate.
""I came to our rabbi, told him the whole story and ended with the advice, 'Let the twins finish it'... Tears flowed from his eyes, and he told me: 'This is a great sanctification of God, we need to publicize it widely.'".
