A nine-year-old girl riding a scooter was critically injured on Monday afternoon when she was hit by a minibus in Rosh HaAyin.

Rescue forces called to the scene provided her with initial medical treatment and evacuated her, while undergoing CPR, to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.

The doctors at the hospital fought for an hour to save the girl's life, but sadly they were forced to pronounce her dead.

Senior MDA paramedic Alon Habani said: "The girl was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, after being hit by a minibus. We began performing advanced CPR, which included massages and breathing, and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital, with her condition classified as critical.".

The police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and detained the minibus driver, a resident of Kafr Qassem in his 30s, for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the accident.
