A senior official in the Attorney General's Office commented today (Monday) on Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman's repeated recommendation to delete the bribery section in Case 4000 - saying: "It has a different meaning after Netanyahu's testimony.".
According to a report by Shelly Tapiero on Channel 2, the senior official said: "The recommendation requires a recalculation of the route. It was true that it existed in the past, but it has a different meaning after Netanyahu's testimony.".
The remarks by the head of the panel in the Netanyahu trial being conducted in the Jerusalem District Court were made after in June 2023 the judges first recommended to the State Attorney's Office to withdraw the bribery charge against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and leave the offense of breach of trust in the three cases 1000, 2000, and 4000.
During the hearing held today, which dealt with increasing the number of days for hearing defense witnesses to five days a week, Judge Friedman-Feldman surprised everyone by saying: "We did not plan to say this, but after hearing the Prime Minister's testimony, our position as heard in June 2023 remains unchanged.".
