
The FBI thwarted a drone attack on a UFC event held on the South Lawn of the White House on the occasion of President Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
FBI Director Kash Patel, who announced today that the attack had been thwarted, noted that several suspects had been arrested across the United States.
According to reports, the FBI has so far arrested five suspects involved in the plot.
According to a report on Fox News, the suspects allegedly planned to use booby-trapped drones to hit buildings near the event, and shoot at the crowd as they fled.
It was also reported that additional suspects were planning to invade the White House.
NBC noted that it had not yet been able to verify the details of the plan, but a senior law enforcement official described the threat as "very serious.".
