A large-scale IDF air operation deep inside Iran, the planning of which was completed last week and was ready for immediate launch, was canceled at the last minute following the direct intervention of United States President Donald Trump.
This was revealed by the commander of the Air Force, Major General Omer Tishler, in a letter he sent to those serving in the force.
Tishler wrote: "The entire Air Force was ready to take off for a large-scale strike mission. Just hours from the order to take off, hundreds of targets in the heart of Iran. The attack was stopped while we were briefing the squadrons just an hour before departure for the mission.".
According to Major General Tishler, despite the halting of the targeted operation, the air force inflicted heavy and lasting damage on Tehran's strategic arrays in previous rounds of fighting.
He detailed the achievements of the operational activity to his subordinates: "We severely damaged the Iranian leadership, the defense and attack systems, the nuclear components, the economy, the chain of command and knowledge, the military and national industry, while significantly reducing the threat, extending the duration of the reconstruction, and preserving the ability to return to operate in Iran as needed.".
Alongside this, the Corps Commander clarified that the security system is closely monitoring political changes in the international arena - and noted: "It is too early to know how global moves will affect the security reality.".
