The Air Force attacked Hezbollah's headquarters in the Hadahiya neighborhood of Beirut at noon (Sunday), in response to drone launches toward Israeli territory during the morning.
A joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated that the attack was carried out in accordance with their instructions. "The IDF has now attacked terrorist targets of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the Hadahiya neighborhood of Beirut, in response to Hezbollah's firing at Israeli territory. Israel will not tolerate firing into its territory," the statement said.
The attack comes after three unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Lebanon penetrated Israeli territory this morning. Two drones exploded in the Shlomi area in the Western Galilee, and later another drone exploded in a military area in Israeli territory.
The IDF said that all of the air targets fell in military areas near the border and not inside civilian settlements. It was also reported that there were no casualties.
The circumstances of the events are under investigation.
