Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital confirmed the death of an 8-day-old baby, who was brought to the hospital after undergoing circumcision in one of the communities of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council.
The hospital announced the baby's death this evening (Saturday night).
The police have opened an investigation.
The body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, which is expected to provide a detailed opinion on the circumstances of death.
The hospital said: "Last night - Friday - an 8-day-old baby was taken to the hospital without a pulse and during MDA resuscitation attempts. Resuscitation attempts also continued at the hospital by the pediatric emergency medicine department staff, but he had to be pronounced dead.".
