At the end of an undercover investigation: A prosecutor's statement was filed against a suspect, a resident of Bat Yam, for serious security offenses, which included contact with a foreign agent.

As part of a combined operation by the General Security Service and the Ayalon Region Crime Fighting Unit, an Israeli citizen, a resident of Bat Yam in his 30s, was arrested in May on suspicion of committing serious security offenses and being in contact with Iranian intelligence officials.

During the investigation, the suspicion grew stronger that during the months prior to his arrest, the suspect had been in contact with Iranian intelligence officials and had carried out various security missions.

The investigation materials revealed that at the end of 2025, a connection was established between the suspect and an Iranian official via a social network, during which the suspect agreed to perform various tasks in exchange for funds transferred to him.

Upon completion of the investigation and after an evidentiary foundation was formed, a prosecutor's statement was filed against the suspect, and a serious indictment is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.

""The Israel Police and the General Security Service once again warn citizens and residents of the State of Israel against maintaining contact with foreign entities and carrying out missions for them," it said. "These actions constitute a serious violation of the law and endanger the security of the state.".
