This is what police representatives testified today (Thursday) during the hearing on extending the detention of 62 of the protesters at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court.
According to a report in 'Kan News', police representatives said in the hearing: "Contrary to what is claimed, the Israel Police did not abandon the Solberg family. Two patrol officers were facing two hundred rioters who were rushing towards them. They backed off until a riot police team arrived to help them.".
According to the police, upon receiving the report, the Shi'a District police were called to the scene and arrived within minutes. "When the initial force arrived, the rioters began running towards the team, shouting 'Nazis, Nazis.' They immediately joined the Yasm police who also arrived and together with the forces arrested the rioters who were on the scene," the police claim.
The police emphasize that "the rapid and decisive arrival of the forces brought the incident to an end within 8 minutes, the rioters were arrested, and order was restored.".
