'Hapeleg' protesters broke into the yard of the military police commander's house • Zamir Rotah: "Crossing a dangerous red line"'

Protesters from the Jerusalem faction broke into the courtyard of the Ashkelon home of Brigadier General Yuval Yamin, commander of the military police, this evening (Tuesday), in protest of the arrest of ultra-Orthodox "evaders.".

The police said: Lachish police are currently working in the city of Ashkelon to restore public order, after rioters arrived at the home of a senior IDF officer, cordoned off the yard, acted violently, and disrupted the routine of life in the area.

Police forces arrested 25 protesters involved in disorderly conduct.

""The Israel Police view with great seriousness any violent behavior, violation of public order and trespassing into the compound of a private home and will act decisively to bring all those involved to justice, alongside continuing operations to maintain public order and security," the police statement said.

The IDF said: A short time ago, a report was received of an intentional break-in at the home of a senior military police officer, Brigadier General Yuval Yamin, while his family was at home.

Security forces were dispatched to the scene and are working to locate the suspects.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir Zaam: "I strongly condemn the attack. Harming security forces personnel and their families constitutes crossing a dangerous red line. I fully support Kamtzar for fulfilling his role with great dedication.".

The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir: ""I strongly condemn the despicable behavior of a handful of anarchists from the extreme ultra-Orthodox faction who broke into the home of the commander of the military police. Freedom of expression is not freedom of anarchy. I have full confidence in the police who will bring the lawbreakers to justice.""
