Commando soldiers from a special unit began Operation Eagle on Friday night, minutes before the ceasefire went into effect, in which the forces landed in the heart of the Christophani Ridge in southern Lebanon - and established their activities in the area.
The operation, which was approved by the Chief of Staff, was commanded by the Commander of the Air Force and the Commander of the Northern Command.
""The IDF is on immediate alert and will continue to remove threats in the entire area between the border and the line defined within the framework of the ceasefire understandings," the IDF statement said.
