After another threatening tweet from Trump: The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, launched a sharp jab at US President Donald Trump, mocking what he described as a continuous zigzag between military threats and attempts at dialogue.
In a tweet, Kalibaf mocked the president's double messages: "'A massive attack is on the way... Wait, never mind, they want to negotiate.'".
He added and sneered: "This is theatrical diplomacy in loops. Using bullying + broken promises + fake news as leverage in a failed strategy. Recognize the facts and fulfill your commitments. We don't need more theater. This is theatrical diplomacy that repeats itself over and over again.".
The speaker of the Iranian parliament attacked the tools the West uses to exert pressure on Tehran: "Using bullying, broken promises, and fake news as pressure levers is a failed strategy.".
The Iranian news agency 'Noor News' also took a dig at the US president: "Trump's unusual haste to declare 'success' on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz reveals his central weakness more than anything else. The question is: is he in a hurry to implement a real agreement, or is he just trying to sell the American public the news of a good agreement before the congressional elections.".
