Defense Minister Yisrael Katz held an urgent discussion last night (Wednesday) on the threat of drones within the State of Israel, with the participation of National Security Council Chairman Shmuel Ben Ezra, head of the Defense Ministry's Anti-Drone Operations Directorate, Brigadier General (res.) Dr. Danny Gold, IDF representatives and other senior security officials.
The discussion presented the current situation regarding the developing threat from drones within the State of Israel, and presented operational, technological, and regulatory alternatives for dealing with the threat.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz are working together with security agencies and government ministries to promote an immediate and comprehensive plan to provide an operational response to the drone threat, alongside completing the necessary steps in the areas of enforcement and regulation - with the aim of ensuring a rapid and effective response to a developing and significant threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.
