Yaakov Israel Yedid Halevi, 35, drowned last night in front of his wife and 4 children, while they were on vacation in Limassol, Cyprus.

The deceased went swimming in the sea with his family and suddenly disappeared. His family members began searching for him along with the local police, until he was located by a paraglider that passed over the area and spotted him floating. Sadly, he was pulled from the sea lifeless.

The late Yaakov lived in Pisgat Ze'ev and served in the reserves. In the last two weeks, he went on vacation with his family and, as mentioned, drowned to death last night.

His sister, Rivka Yedid, said: "Kobe was a man with a huge heart who knew how to give to others with all his heart. An exemplary husband and father to small children who brought joy and honor to his parents. A true man who will be missed by many.".

The ZAKA International Division team is working continuously, together with the Mencha La'ad company, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all relevant parties, with the aim of bringing the deceased to burial as soon as possible.

Baruch Nidam, Director of the International Division at ZAKA: "Immediately upon receipt of the report at the ZAKA International Division hotline, the team began to deal with the dignity of the deceased and with local authorities - with the aim of releasing the deceased in preparation for a flight to Israel for further burial and funeral.".
