An IDF soldier undergoing training at the training base of the ultra-Orthodox Hasmonaean Brigade in the Jordan Valley was seriously injured today (Tuesday) by a bullet fired at the base.
The soldier, who belongs to the world's largest Hasidic community, is being taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The investigating military police have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Suspicion of playing with weapons is also being examined.
The IDF said: "An IDF soldier was seriously injured earlier this evening, as a result of shooting at a military base. The soldier was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and his family has been notified.".
""Following the incident, an investigation by the investigating military police was opened. Upon completion, the findings will be forwarded to the military prosecutor's office for review.".
