A two-year-old toddler, from an ultra-Orthodox family, drowned this afternoon (Monday) in a pool at a guest house in Moshav Sdot Micha in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council.
MDA and United Hatzalah paramedics and medics arrived at the scene, provided the toddler with medical treatment and performed CPR on him while he was in critical condition.
He was evacuated by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition.
Sadly, he was pronounced dead at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
MZAKA reported: At approximately 5:12 PM, a report was received of a two-year-old toddler who was pulled from a private pool in Moshav Sdot Micha in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. MDA teams evacuated him by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where he was unfortunately confirmed dead.
ZAKA volunteers from the Jerusalem District - Beit Shemesh team are at the hospital, accompanying the family members and acting as needed.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police.
Issachar Yaakovson, Mordechai Friedman and Itzik Fox, paramedics in the United Hatzalah rescue unit, said: "We were informed by his family that he drowned and was pulled from the pool unconscious at the B&B where they were staying. We performed CPR on him, and then he was evacuated by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in critical condition.".
MDA paramedics Rafael Toledano, Elia Binyamin and Ari Rabinowitz said: "We received a report of a toddler who drowned in a pool in a private home. We arrived at the scene quickly and a two-year-old toddler was brought to us, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing.
""We immediately began performing advanced resuscitation operations that included massages, breathing, and administering medications, and while continuing medical treatment, we evacuated him by MDA-Hatzala Air helicopter to the hospital, with his condition classified as critical, and we are fighting for his life.""
