A 3-year-old Haredi girl from the Ramot neighborhood in Jerusalem was strangled this afternoon (Tuesday) in her home in Anaev.
Rescue forces called to the scene gave her first aid, performed CPR on her, and extracted the grape. She was then taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Moshe Wiener, Ariel Ben-David and Moishe Adler, United Hatzalah paramedics: "When we arrived at the scene, we were told that the girl had choked while eating grapes. We performed CPR to save her life with the assistance of a paramedic who extracted a grape from her trachea. She was then evacuated to continue receiving medical treatment at Shaare Zedek Hospital in serious condition.".

In the guidelines previously issued by the medical department of the United Hatzalah, it was stated: "The way to prevent choking in children is to cut the grapes into small pieces and make sure to teach toddlers to chew the food thoroughly before swallowing.".
